Privacy Policy

What TikStoryViewer collects, what it doesn't, and exactly which third parties see anything.

Last updated July 27, 2026

This policy explains how tikstoryviewer.net("we", "us") handles information when you use the site. The short version: we do not run accounts, we do not ask for your email anywhere except the contact form, and we never sell data. The longer version is below, including the third-party services that do set cookies.

1. Information we do not collect

To be specific about what is not happening here:

  • No account registration, and no username or password is ever requested.
  • No TikTok credentials. We never ask for them and you should never give them to any story viewer.
  • No newsletter signup, no marketing list, no email capture on the tool itself.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
  • We do not store the stories or profiles you look up against your identity, because there is no identity attached to a lookup.

2. Information we do collect

Contact form submissions

The contact page is the only place on this site where you can give us personal information. If you submit that form we receive the name, email address and message you type into it.

That information is used for one purpose: to read and reply to your message. It is not added to any mailing list, not used for marketing, and not shared with third parties. You can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing contact@tikstoryviewer.net.

Searches you run

When you look up a username, that username is sent to our server so we can fetch publicly available story data. We cache results briefly to keep the site fast and to stay within rate limits. That cache is keyed by username only — it contains no information about who requested it.

Recent searches stored in your browser

Your recent lookups are saved in your own browser's local storage so the site can offer them as shortcuts. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us. Clearing your browser storage removes it permanently.

Server logs

Like virtually all websites, our hosting provider records standard technical request data such as IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamp. This is used for security, abuse prevention and diagnosing faults, and is retained only as long as needed for those purposes.

3. Cookies and advertising

Google AdSense

We display advertising served by Google AdSense to keep this tool free to use. You should know the following:

  • Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • Third-party vendors and ad networks may also use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices.

Google's handling of data is governed by its own privacy and terms, not by this policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which devices they use. It sets cookies and collects usage data on Google's behalf. We use it to improve the site, not to identify individuals. You can prevent it entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Managing cookies yourself

Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies through its settings. Blocking them will not stop the story viewer from working, though advertising may become less relevant.

4. Third-party content

Story media, profile pictures and thumbnails are served directly from TikTok's content delivery network. When your browser loads them, it makes a request to TikTok's servers, which may log that request under TikTok's own policies. We have no control over and no access to that data.

Links to external sites are also outside our control. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the CCPA or similar laws — including the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to it.

Since the only personal information we hold is what you voluntarily send through the contact form, exercising these rights is straightforward: email contact@tikstoryviewer.net and we will action the request.

6. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has submitted information through our contact form, email us and we will delete it.

7. Data security

The site is served over HTTPS and download links are cryptographically signed and time-limited. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we take reasonable measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes or as legal requirements evolve. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.

9. Contact

Questions about this policy can go to contact@tikstoryviewer.net or through the contact form.
